Plunder and Peril: The OTHER Pirate Game

Night 4: March 5, 2015

After dealing some hurt to the river drakes, we notice a burrow with a small glimmer. Upon further inspection, Boka pretended to get his hand bit off by the river drake hiding inside…except it was made of wood! We locate a skeleton, presumably the crafter of the river drake statue, along with two hand axes, a long bow and 25 gp. His name was, according to the loggers, Blevy.

We head back to Hartha’s Headstones. We talked her into buying the river drake statue for 100 gold pieces, but decided to set 75 of it to return to the captain. We make our way to the inn and enjoy a round of drinks with our bar-brawl-buddies from the previous night. We meet the ships doctor, Doc Imogen, who is quite excitable. We find Yamtizy drawing a picture of a sea serpent wrapped around a boat – Lyanae volunteers her trade skill to tattoo Yamtizy for her. We spend the remainder of dinner with our crew, rest a bit, and then spend some time getting to know the town.

We decide to gather more information about the tengu, Hyrik Snowfeather, and the story behind the attempted mutiny. What we discover is that Captain Varossa used to head the ship with her husband, Warvil.

We head over to Hartha and pick up the magpie – it looks beautiful. She decides to pay us back 125 gold because of our help with the loggers. We deliver the headstone to the captain, who is very pleased that we were able to get such quality work at a reduced price. The Magpie Princess is docked in a hidden cove, so we load up into a rowboat and take the figurehead to it.

The firstmate leaves us for the afternoon/evening to stay with the ship. While on watch, an old hag and two very large fish attack the boat. Her attacks focused on Adot and brought him down early. Heffa & Lyanae made quick work of the fish, slicing and dicing them into two, then went after the ugly hag. In a desperate attempt to escape, the hag began to fly away, but Lyanae and Heffa each took one last hit on her – and she fell to her death. We rushed to Adot’s aid, but it was almost too late. He was comatose for a day, but on day 2…he passed away. The party was saddened to have lost Adot, but hopes that something can be done at the Temple. In the meantime, the party begins to plan and gather their money.

Night 3: February 11, 2015
Running Errands

We all have a good night’s rest and wake up to enjoy some hot, steaming cups of coffee. Quite enjoyable, even on a hot, muggy day. We head to the short piers.

Yamtisy comes out to shuffle us to the boat, unhappy that we aren’t moving fast enough for her. We meet the ships quartermaster, Iulia Antoninia, who is pretty crass and unreasonable. She sends us off on an errand to secure a figurehead for the front of the ship. She warned us to keep an eye out for Hyrek Snowfeather, a tengu. As we were heading to Hartha’s Headstones to procure a figurehead, two werecrocs approached and attacked us. Adot & Boka kept them alive and bound them. Heffa took their clothes.

We made it to Hartha’s house and “arrange” for her assistance in creating the figurehead for the ship. She sends us out to check on the loggers and see what creature is holding up their progress. They send us out to the forest where we easily locate a few river drakes and dispose of them quickly.

Night 2: January 28
Bar Brawl

So we got in a fight. Heffa, Lyanae, and Adot were ready. After taking a shot and swearing an oath, we stepped into the pit. Each party member seemed to have their moment – Adot’s opponents kept missing their shots, Lyanae grabbed some guy in the balls, Heffa clocked a half-orc in the ear (probably causing hearing loss), and Boka kept floating away to the ceiling. The crowded cheered for Heffa when they realized she was the bar champion from earlier. The fight continued – each adventurer landing a few shots to Hundrun and the bar champions. Adot finally lands the winning blow, bringing Hundrun to his knees. The captain Lanteri cheers to the party and welcomes them upstairs to learn more about the adventure.

The party and captain meet upstairs and share a bite to eat and the information regarding the mission:
What: searching treasure hoard of Captain Gemma Redclaw.
Where: no exact location yet, but Captain Lanteri seems to know. Expect time on the ship.
We are to share 1/16th of the load, split among the party. If we sign her contract, we become part of her “crew” and must do as she says. Benefits package included.
Each party member signs the contract presented by the Captain. She encourages us to get a good night’s sleep and meet her at the short piers in the morning.

Welcome to Plunder & Peril
A virtual pirate adventure

Night 1: January 14

The party arrived by boat in Lilywhite. We were greeted by a heavy-accented man named Anyabwile Saabwa who led us to Cailean’s Temple. Adot, Heffa, and Boka decided to take the Lucky Drunk’s Challenge. Boka started feeling sick after 3 rounds but decided to keep drinking – the encouragement from the crowd was all it took. He threw up after the next drink and was out of the competition. Adot continued to fare well through 4 rounds but lost it after round 5. Heffa represented her half-orc heritage and made the drinking look easy through round 7. Round 8 was a tough drink but even though her competitor threw up on her clothes, she won the contest and a pretty silver stein.

Anyabwile continued to walk the party around and eventually gifted each member of the party with a mask. He encouraged us to attend the lumber yard (Taryn’s Planks) in the evening in order to catch the fireworks. The party catches a bite of food together and heads over to the lumber yard. Captain Varossa Lanteri interrupted the beginning of the fireworks and announced a competition. “The first to reach my bosun’s table at the God’s Revel Inn will have an opoprtunity to receie an officer’s share of old Captain Redclaw’s gold.” The group took off in a mad dash and made it in the knick of time.

Just then, a group of baddies busted through the door and claimed they were first – ready for a fight.
